Southwind: A Wyldlife camp

Hello everyone! Im sorry it has been a while since my last blog but I hope to get better at it this summer!

For those of you who don't know, this summer I have had to pleasure of becoming a retail intern at Southwind. Southwind is a Wyldlife camp. Many of you have probably heard of Younglife, which is a high school outreach ministry but Wyldlife is with the same organization but just for middle schoolers. Kids are able to come to camp for a week and have the "best week of their life".

I arrived two weeks ago to get everything ready in the store. Its been a great opportunity to learn more about the retail business and i have dived head first in learning it all. Some of the responsibilities i have had so far are: Putting out all new merchandise, setting up displays, putting inventory into the system, buying new inventory and mentoring Summer Staff. (Summer staff is a group of college kids who come to volunteer for a month out of their summer and i get four girls who help me out in the store, snack bar and craft cart) The past two weeks have been great but its been kind of lonely because this is a camp that is meant for campers, so you can only guess the anticipation we have been under. But all of that changed two days ago when our first set of campers arrived. Today is day three and everything has been great so far! I am so excited to see to see God move in the hearts of all these kids and the staff here as well. Here are some pictures of the store and us interns playing on the new wiffleball field. I hope to blog again soon on some of the fun things around camp, so stayed tuned :-)
